5 Tips to Shed Fat

The truth about weight loss is simple: you have to consume less calories than you burn. However, sometimes there are easy ways to get you kick started into shedding those excess pounds.

1. Cut Out The Fat.

Look at the product labels of everything you buy and don’t just look at the calories count – check the fat!

Sometimes you buy a food product that looks like it is well within your calories range but you fail to notice that it has a high percentage of fat in it. On every important point is to reduce your amount of saturated fat. Saturated fat leads to high cholesterol and possible heart or artery problems!

So, cut down on your fat intake. Normally you fat allowance for the day would be somewhere in the region of between 50 and 70 grams with only 18 to 20 grams of that being saturated fat. If you can get your overall fat intake down to 20 grams a day you will start to shed those excess pounds fast!

2. Fill Her Up.

Drink plenty of water. Drinking 4 pints or 2 quarts of water daily will make you fill full up and less hungry. It will also help flush impurities from your system and help your liver to burn your stored fat for energy.

3. Fiber Up.

Fiber is a great way to gain nutrients for the body and to feel full up without taking in too much calories. Try eating more fruit and vegetables instead of snacks or substitute more vegetables for less meat products.

4. You’re Sweet Enough!

Sugar will pile on the fat! Sugar is an addictive substance that makes you want to eat more, and more and more of the sweet substances it is placed into.

In addition sugar also causes your body to excrete the mineral called chromium. Chromium is a mineral that helps your body build lean tissue and muscle which burn up calories. The more muscle you have on your body the more energy it takes to run your body even when you are sleeping.

So you want to avoid anything that cuts down your body’s ability to build calorie-burning tissue – i.e. sugar.

5. Check for Food Allergies.

In many occasions when a person has tried desperately to lose weight but been unable to it has been found that they suffer from a food allergy.

There are foods that your body may find hard to cope with and other foods that drive you into a craving frenzy. If you are honest with yourself and have been diligent in a diet and exercise regime but still been unable to lose then perhaps a trip to a dietary specialist may be in order.
