We might not have liked the way it was handled; but it was our parents and our immediate family whom decided it to be that way. They employed a wedding planner to do all the planning from the reception, the church, the food, to the details of the cake except for the Honeymoon. The honeymoon was definitely something that we wanted to have a say on it. Therefore we made it clear that it would be us who would plan for the whole honeymoon, but to be honest we didn’t have plan or a preference at all. My husband and I decided to have an unplanned honeymoon to make it different one, we wanted to be adventurous instead of having old fashioned honeymoon style.
To begin with, we spoke about different places to go to and getting ideas from everyone, some said, Spain, Barcelona, Rome, Paris in conclusion the typical places for honeymooners because of the romanticism and all. Since we have been to those places and don’t get me wrong they are beautiful and enchanting places, we still were looking for something different for a change. So after all the thinking and everything we decided to go to Florida unplanned, packed our bags, got the tickets, some phone calls and flew to Miami, Florida. Our worries started when we arrived in Miami airport we didn’t know what to do or where to go as our final honeymoon destination; we were basically honeymooners exploring a new world! But this was an exciting adventure and what we were looking for.
Finally my husband making some queries with different people and via the internet he found a transportation company called Florida Shuttle Transportation; he booked and instant reservation for us to travel to a city called Naples which we have heard and studied that is a wonderful and relaxing location; it’s about a two hour ride on the shuttle from Miami.
When we first entered the Naples area, I said to myself this is perfect for me; from the beach to the buildings the quiet and simple serenity. I have heard that it’s one of the best honeymoon locations with the white sandy beaches. Also have dinner while watching the sun setting off in the golf of Mexico.
We enjoyed walking in the beach while breathing the sanitized air which is very rare to breath this kind of air where we live. We stayed over in the Naples hotel called the Marco Beach Ocean Resort. Indeed a great accommodation for us, we always got a warm smile of welcome and when they found out that we’re there for honeymoon they upgraded our room to be the best room and with no increase on the price; they gave us the fancy Mediterranean style suite with a patio and a nice view of the ocean to make it more romantic. We really love it.
We were very pleased since our arrival to the Miami Airport, to the transportation provided to the final destination. After the quiet full of tranquility scene in Naples Florida we decided to go to Miami for some fun and simple night life; of course I couldn’t leave out my favorite thing to do “shopping”. I really enjoyed shopping at the Aventura Mall in Miami even though it was raining it did not stop us to do our thing.
Indeed Naples and Miami Florida are two great places to visit. Highly recommend Naples for your romantic part of your honeymoon and Miami for the rest of the stay for some fun and shopping. Have a great time all you newlyweds!
