Fast Food, Slow Food – Decline Of The Junk

As soon as someone says ‘fast food’, you think of burgers and fries. Of course the cheese inside the burger and the soda accompanied along with the meal are an added bonus to the temptation. And then you get a second thought- is it healthy? But obviously, no! The fast food chains would give away their entire fortune without any second thoughts to anybody who could alter the consumer’s ability to have that second thought.

Moving on to the next thought- why are you having second thoughts on having junk food? Of course every doctor, nutritionist or a gym instructor advises against it, to state the obvious- it deteriorate your health. But it is so tasty and it never fails to tickle the taste buds to glory.

Fast Food – An Addiction Or A Lack Of Self Control?

I’d like to stress this to all my readers, if you really want to kick the habit of eating unhealthily, you must embark on a lifestyle change. You’ll need motivation and determination to change a habit, if you want to learn how to change a habit, my friend Bryan has written an article on how to break a habit. Is fast food addictive? Yes, it is addictive. Scientists have claimed that that Hamburgers and French fries can be as addictive as heroin. Researchers in the US have found evidence to suggest people can become overly dependent on the sugar and fat in fast food.

Evidence? Dr John Hoebel and colleagues have based their theory on a study of rats. Rats which were fed a diet containing 25% sugar were thrown into a state of anxiety when the sugar was removed. Their symptoms included chattering teeth and the shakes – similar to those seen in people withdrawing from nicotine or morphine, according to researchers. Catering Equipment To Make Fast Food Outlets More Efficient

The fast food industry is a competitive one and as a fast food outlet owner you need to stay ahead of the game. That is, you need to always provide a speedy service and good food at affordable prices. It is challenging but you can get ahead with the following catering equipment.

• Anvil Fryer

The Anvil Fryer is ideal for fast food outlets that serve a lot of French fries with their meals. The double pan version of this catering equipment is able to fry up to 8 kilograms of French fries per hour. Fast Food Options While on a Low Carb Dieting Plan

Choosing to follow a lowered carbohydrate, higher-protein dieting lifestyle is an excellent choice, yet a challenging one when it comes to dining on fast foods. The creative dieter can find many solutions, and it just takes some time to re-program your mind to make wise choices when dining.

At the moment it is impossible to see regular and repeated visits to a fast food restaurant as something that would expedite the acquisition of low carb snacks or high protein meals. Still some fast food restaurants do have cooks who are comfortable creating l/c recipes. Those restaurants will receive mention in this article.

The Panda Express has a couple dishes that someone on a low carb diet could enjoy without feeling guilty. One of those is the restaurant’s Beef and Broccoli. The other one is the Vegetable Fried Rice. The Panda Express also has some l/c soups. A dieter can use soup to obtain a fuller belly. Fast Food Nutrition: An Oxymoron?

As many people do, I find that in my busy schedule I do not have time to prepare my own meals, so incidentally I eat out quite a bit. Sometimes I will sit down and eat, but for the most part I find myself going through the drive through, and eating in my car to save on time. When eating fast food you will find that it can be difficult when you are trying to make an attempt to eat somewhat healthy. In most places, you will find that the nutritional information of the food you are eating is not available at all. When I go to get a burger, I will always know the caloric content of my meal when I look at the nutrition menu.

Fight Back the Effects of Fast Food With Natural Antioxidants

As much as anyone may try to avoid fast food meals, today’s fast paced living makes fast food restaurants an easy and convenient on-the-go choice. Here are some recommendations as to some foods and supplements you can use to fight back an occasional fast food splurge.

In the Mood for Fried Chicken? Fight Back the Fat with Red Wine Resveratrol

When you eat a high-fat meal like fried chicken or a mayonnaise-laden hamburger, you are flooding your system with triglycerides, and slowing circulation. Consuming resveratrol-rich foods such as red grapes or red wine could help you prevent some of the negative effects. Resveratrol prevents the formation of bad cholesterol and can be obtained in supplement form without the calories or sugar of red wine or grapes. In addition, Coenzyme Q10 – a coenzyme which exists naturally in our bodies – can help prevent the oxidation of bad cholesterol, which is the cause of artery-blocking plaque also known as atherosclerosis. Fast Food and Calories

Here in the technology and information age, we have more knowledge and advancements than ever before in history. Sixty years ago, who would have ever thought that you could send an instant message over a phone, let alone take a picture with it? Sixty years ago, who would have thought we would be capable of sending a man to the moon, but fail the war on obesity and cancer?

Isn’t it oddly shocking that America is so well-advanced in everything except health and fitness? While the fitness industry tells us to count calories and exercise for fat loss, we grow fatter and fatter as a nation.

Running parallel to the fitness industry is the fast food chains, doing their best to keep on the top of “healthy eating” trend. It seems the fast-food industry can tailor to anyone’s dieting needs with “fat-free,” “low-calorie,” and “low-carb” menu items. Continue reading “Fast Food and Calories”
