Book Review of "Extreme Couponing"

I have been a fan of the television show “Extreme Couponing'” but frustrated that they don’t show you how to make it happen. I bought the book written by Joni Meyer-Crothers with Beth Adelman in hope that the secrets would be revealed. I pretty much already knew the information but have never achieved the same results.

It was nice reading about how she began using coupons. I could relate. I’ve been in those struggling situations and could have used getting free items. I’ve never been able to get the extreme items but have always been good at finding a fun deal here and there on a single item. Mostly, I just made do with what I had.

I did find a blog that seemed helpful so plan on trying in out this week. Tomorrow, I will get the newspaper and really compare the various store ads with the coupons and see if any match up. I signed up for a couponing workshop.

Cost Estimates for Your Sturgis Rally Vacation

If you are headed to Sturgis for the Black Hills Rally and Races in Sturgis South Dakota you may be wondering how much your trip to the Black Hills will cost? As with any vacation it’s always best to have a budget and plan your trip based on your budget. So with that in mind here are some estimates of typical costs related to a vacation to Sturgis South Dakota for the Bike Rally.

Lodging or Camping:

Hotels in and near Sturgis can be very tough to find during Rally week. If you can find a Hotel room expect to pay nearly $300-$400 per night for a Super 8 type room. If you are camping you usually reserve a space that covers you for 15 days that allow for time before and after the Sturgis rally. This can range from $100-$175 per camper using a tent site. If you have an RV expect a charge of $400 for 30 Amp or $450 for 50 Amp service. Many campgrounds also charge a per camper fee on top of this so add that $100-$175 back on. 11 Ways To Enjoy Your Food More

Some people call it mindful eating. While that’s a good term, I like to think of it as “getting the most pleasure possible” out of what I’m eating. That makes me feel like I’m getting a real treat, and taking steps to squeeze out the most pleasure that I can is more motivating than creating rules for myself about what I can or cannot do when I eat.

By far, staying present while I eat, or mindful eating, is the eating habit that I have to work on, especially when I’m extra busy, stressed, excited, or with other people.

These strategies are simple and subtle. They always help me remember to focus on my food and take the most pleasure that I can.

NLP for Coaches: Submodalities 102 – Like to Dislike for Food

How does it work?

I will tell you how it worked for my friend with the danishes. You can substitute another food for this process. The process as described below only applies to food, there are more things to consider when you are working with behaviors.

First let me explain Submodalities. Submodalities are a way our brain encodes our thinking. Let me show you. When you think about your favorite food, do you have a picture? Now, where is this picture located? Is it near or far, up or down, inside of you or outside? This is the Submodality of location. By being aware that the mind does this, we can create significant change quickly.

Mitch’s Tavern Review – Raleigh, NC

Whenever I move to a new area or visit for an extended length of time, one of the first things I am sure to do is scour the nearby shops and eateries for my own little nook or cranny to fill. I spend a lot of my time reading, writing, or just relaxing while I work and I prefer to do it in a calm environment that can offer some good food or drink when needed, and doesn’t mind me hanging around. When I moved to Raleigh, North Carolina I found my niche rather quickly in Mitch’s Tavern. Mitch’s Tavern (often simply referred to as “Mitch’s” by the locals) is a quiet little pub that offers students, professors, and workers a place to eat on Hillsborough Street for both lunch and dinner. When I walked into Mitch’s for the first time a warmth swept over me and a feeling of home settled within me; I knew that this would be my area.

Nepal – Travel & Food For Thought

Russian born, when I first came to Nepal, I wasn’t going to see the temples nor mountains that seem to capture the imagination of every traveler, and no, I wasn’t going for the food either. In fact, I was dragged here. You see, the first time Nepal caught me, was at the age of six, so the usual tourist highlights didn’t yet interest me. Frankly, Nepal didn’t interest me either. My mother and at the time her boyfriend were going to Nepal on vacation and to visit my aunt (mother’s sister) who had married a Nepali studying in Russia at the time. Though I do have a memory of the Nepal I saw in the 80s, it certainly didn’t leave on me as lasting an impression as the FOOD; for the little that I do remember, for the most part, had little to do with the Himalayas and Pagodas. My mother and I would later immigrate to the U.S. and I wouldn’t get a real taste of Nepali food, other than the occasional taste of achhar (a spicy Nepali pickle) or a rather “not the same” substitute Indian food, until I was 24 years old when the Nepali food, once again excited my memories and taste buds.

How to Push Back the Food Pusher

Is your boyfriend, girlfriend, other friend, family member, or significant other pushing food? Has someone guilted you into eating by telling you “I’ve been cooking all day preparing this food?” Do they say Taste this, try that, Is that all you’re eating?

Saying No thank you should be enough but often, a food pusher has already put a few tablespoons of their food onto your plate even before you are able to look at the food you already have on your plate. Sometimes an over-zealous table-mate will over-order every course and ask for extra forks and spoons for everyone. In doing this, they become not only yours but everyone else’s food pusher. I actually had someone zoom near my mouth with a fork full of food while saying Open wide! When someone is trying to control what you eat, they may also be trying to control you. What do you do when this happens?

How Hemorrhoids Made Me Healthy, Fit & Sexy

I developed hemorrhoids when I was in my 20s. Occasional flare-ups occur when my stress levels are high and I eat too much junk food and too little fiber. After a few days of eating right, drinking lots of water and exercising more, symptoms disappear.

In May 2009, I moved from my home of 19 years into a condo. I did a lot of renovation work and I love my new place. But even good stress can cause problems. In October, I had a severe flare-up of hemorrhoids. Only this time, nothing helped. Finally I got prescription ointment and suppositories, and the bleeding stopped and pain subsided. Within days, it started again and got worse.

I did some research on the internet. There is a lot of good medical information and advice out there. I found one site that was loaded with helpful yet hilarious advice. Check out 001yourtranslationservice.com and follow the links to his natural hemorrhoids treatment page.
