Reverse Bandit Signs

As investors we all have heard about, used or at least seen bandit signs. You know those telephone pole cling-ons entitled “We Buy Houses”? Of course, these are bandit signs because they constantly get stolen by the cling-on sign police-the local town do-gooder, the local county manager, etc. Yep, they are only up for about 3 days before they get stolen by one of these sign bandits.

Contrary to what you’re probably theorizing right now, I do not have a cure for the bandits. The purpose here is to introduce a new idea called “Reverse Bandit Signs”. As you probably know, the “We buy Houses” groups and individuals are trying to attract sellers with their signs. However, here’s little trick that has proven to work very well.

Five Secrets on How To Thrive in Recession

1] Savings on food, drinks, movies.

During difficult times like this, it’s better to make an inventory of what you have at home that is, in the food pantry and the refrigerator before going out for grocery shopping. Most people have a habit of just going to buy food even when there is more at home. Many also throw food away even when there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. A very good way of saving will be to first check around and see what is in and what is not. Home cooked food is also very healthy, enjoyable, comfortable and economical. So instead of eating out everyday, save some money by doing so once or twice a week. Also save money for your family by renting movies and watching in the comfort of your home. Could also look around you and help people in need instead of wasting. There are people all around us dying to eat and you never know what a blessing you may be to someone because you gave him just a loaf of bread. Who you are makes a difference . Find ways to bless others with what God had blessed you with abundantly . Give to food banks or ask friends or family members how you can donate food to the needy. You can be the change you wish to see in the world today.

Can You Purchase Medifast Shakes in Grocery Stores, Health Food Stores, Or Pharmacies?

From all of the emails I get and from my lurking on many weight loss forums and support groups, there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that the Medifast shakes are the most asked about liquid product out there.  Not only is this product filling, good tasting, and pretty convenient, there’s a certain mystery and misconception that seems to surround it.  I get a lot of questions that ask which stores keep these in stock or routinely sell these items.  I’ll go over this topic in the following article.

If you’ve found this article, you probably have already tried to find these products on store or pharmacy shelves.  Maybe you’ve even ventured to a health food store or two or have even tried the yellow pages or local directories.  It’s probably very likely that you have not been successful.  The reason for this is that the company does not distribute the products through third parties.

The Best Food to Feed a Bearded Dragon

Bearded dragons make wonderful pets. They are active during the day, and when adult are large enough to be allowed to roam around the house for limited periods (that is, until they start getting cold) without any fears of them disappearing in small hiding places – obviously they need to be supervised at all times. They also have the advantage of almost being born tame and are happy to sit on their owner and will put up with a cuddle.

They are attractive and have great personalities, and make excellent pets for people who are allergic to fur and cannot have any of the more common warm blooded pets. In captivity with the correct husbandry they should live for up to 10 years or even more. The oldest I’m currently aware of is 12. To reach their potential live span they need to be fed the correct foods. Continue reading “The Best Food to Feed a Bearded Dragon”

Food Fight! Battle of the Bulge, Caveman Style

Whenever I hear the phrase “food fight,” I am instantly transported back to the dining hall at Faber College. John Belushi, “Pluto,” is stuffing his face while being told that he is a “P-I-G pig.” In response he asks, “See if you can guess what I am now?” John stuffs a rounded ball of mashed potatoes in to his mouth and proceeds to smash his cheeks together with his two clenched fists. As white, clumpy matter explodes all over everyone, he yells, “I’m a zit. Get it?” Chaos erupts. John is chased all over the dining hall and in the end he yells, “Food Fight!” Without hesitation there is more food in the air than on the tables. Yes, a classic scene from the movie Animal House. But, this is not the type of food fight that I’m alluding to in the title. We are now in the fight of our lives against food, bad food; food that is making us fat and physically and psychologically troubled. This is our modern food fight. Continue reading “Food Fight! Insect Cuisine – Maeng Da Water Beetle Dip With Catfish & Roasted Chilli – Regional Thai Food

This one is my version of “The Beetles greatest hits” as I actually fell in love with this dish a few weeks ago and I’ve been pestering to see it made ever since. I am pretending that I am doing this for posterity – for you, the reader. In actual fact it is selfish. I just like it and want to know how to make it so I can show off in front of my Thai chef friends and colleagues;-)

I have to admit that there is something a bit disconcerting about shoving a creature into your mouth that looks very much like a giant cockroach. You wouldn’t imagine it from my writing, but I am actually just like you. If someone had suggested ten years ago that I would rock up to a street vendor, hand over 10 baht, and chug a massive crawly thing with wings and half a dozen crunchy legs semi tucked under its shiny carapace, the expletives would have flown from my lips like a plague of (un-fried) locusts heading across Egypt. Laugh? I would have shat.

Top 10 Tips for Sensitive Stomachs How to Avoid Foods that Fight

The moment people put food in their mouths everything changes and they start to think that they have done their duty regarding nutrition, and that the process of digestion is automatic and completely beyond their control and therefore no need for concern. Have you ever used a GPS and passed your destination? Does the voice tell you to make a “legal U-turn as soon as possible?” Or does it direct you to go around the next block? I know that this has happened to me. Sometimes you just go down the wrong path. It doesn’t mean you can’t turn around and get back on track to where you need to be. It’s the same in the restaurant industry. Maybe you made some wrong turns or missed some opportunities, but that doesn’t mean you have to give up. You can get back on track. It requires a great deal of work and determination, but you can manage it.

Helping Children Develop an Intelligent Relationship With Food

A few weeks ago, as I was leaving my local Post Office, I passed a young mom and her little girl. The little girl, who looked to be about five, was whining about something. The mother said to her, “If you’ll stop crying, I’ll give you a cupcake when we get home.”

On the surface of it, the mother’s remark seemed innocuous enough. And maybe the remark had no connection at all to the fact that both the mom and the little girl were overweight. Still, I couldn’t help but wonder: What was that mom inadvertently teaching her daughter?

Was she teaching her that sweets are a reward for good behavior? Was she teaching her that sweets are a way to assuage difficult emotions? If the child was learning either or both of these messages, she could be in for a lifetime struggle with issues around weight based on a dysfunctional relationship with food.
